How to Edit the OnCall Schedule

The OnCall Schedule will display your account's current on-call posting. The information found here is what TeleMed will use to determine who to contact regarding pages.

You will be able to edit the schedule as needed. Any updates that are made alert TeleMed in real time. To learn how to make edits to the OnCall Schedule, you will use the Classic Editor function.

IMPORTANT: Never attempt to use the "Enhanced Editor" as it is not functional at this time. "Classic Editor" is the recommended function used to edit your account's schedule.

The "Classic Editor" is our traditional HTML-based page for updating your account's on call schedule. The format is similar to the OnCall Schedule Report except that the entries are replaced with drop lists that may be used to select who is on call for each slot at each time. Simply select the member of your account that needs to be placed on call from the drop down list.

The functions available at the top of the "Classic Editor" are detailed below:

Save All & Close Saves all changes made in the schedule and returns to the On Call Schedule Report.
Save & Continue Saves all changes made but remains in the editor.
Cancel Backs out of the Classic Editor and saves NO changes made.
Insert New Time

Adds a new time to the schedule.

Step 1: Click on the calendar icon to open a calendar and select the date needed.

Step 2: Edit the time of day that appears in the text box to the time needed.

Step 3: Click Insert Time and the new date/time should appear under the "Start Time" Column.

Note: Your schedule may have less or more columns depending on your account's needs. This is set up during the implementation process.

If you would like to edit the calendar during a specific date range, you must select that date range prior to clicking the "Classic Editor" function. You may edit the schedule as far as it will load, which is typically 6 months in advanced if you select the "All Future Data" option.

Printable forms of the on call schedule are available by clicking on either the Print (PDF) or the Print as Calendar (PDF) buttons. Both formats generate a black-and-white PDF file that lays out the schedule data to fit cleanly on one or more standard letter-sized (8-1/2 by 11) sheets of paper. Print (PDF) lays out the data using a table structure similar to what the online report uses. Print as Calendar (PDF) lays out the data using a wall calendar format. The Print as Calendar format can handle schedules with an arbitrary number of slots and daily changes, but the format works best when there are 4 or fewer slots that change no more than twice a day.
